Abandoned B&M Budd RDC's Outside of Boston Video
A look inside the derelict Boston and Maine Budd RDC's outside of the Boston Engine Terminal taken a while back. Unfortunately these cars have been subjected to a lot of vandalism over the years. Note, I had permission to film in these cars. This video is from a while back, sorry for the shaky camera work.

where did you find those railcars? I've? never been inside anold one.
f**k no! SEPTA ...
f**k no! SEPTA should? have these RDC's. Why do Canadians always get the good stuff?
how did you get in? ...
how did you get in? and how did? you not get caught

how did? you get there
VIA Rail Canada ...
VIA Rail Canada might be interested acquiring those RDC cars for rebuilding for service in Canada. ?
Great video but ...
Great video but what a mess for these Budd Rail Diesel Cars. They could be restore and renovated these railcars and remove graffiti for a tourist line or for Amtrak and Via Rail Canada's for new trains. It's so? sad to see these railcars like that.
u know..these cars ...
u know..these cars could be converted to pulled coaches for a torist line..i mean they are sound...body is in good shape inside/out...one car would need the correct trucks reinstalled and other work but with the right time and money i think they could be? brought back to operation...they can sit outside for a long time and only have surface rust..but i would still check the frames..a car can look good on the outside but if the frame is gone its done..cool vid!!
I've always ...
I've always wondered what those cars look? like on the inside.
Seems a shame these ...
Seems a shame these are sitting there being slowly trashed by yobs and the elements. The? stainless carbodies look pretty good, though they don't seem to be on the right trucks.Surely someone could use these!Talk about a throw-away society.
i hate seening ...
i hate seening stuff like this great pices of history with markings on it from a buch of losers that have no respect for anything or anyone and are ether sting in jail or dead today the tlc? iis pretty bad shape but still can be restored and up and running i just found out today the cnj rdc was seen running on its wn power in capemay new jersey pretty nest to see again
Exactly. The only ...
Exactly. The only thing that means anything? is something new and clean and mass-produced. Everything that's older should just be used with minimal care until it breaks, then throw it away. Isn't that how you follow-the-leader Consumers think??
sooo? sad.
sooo? sad.
I live in the UK ...
I live in the UK and have visited Boston many times over thje last 25 years and remember seeing? these units in service in Push-Pull mode with F units.Took some photos from a passing Orange Line train last October and have watched them deteriate over the years
I wouldn't restore ...
I wouldn't restore them. I'd treat them as empty shells, strip them down and install all new wiring and engines and make new rail cars out of them. Put them back on the rails in revenue service.
I think it would cost? too much to restore them to original condition.
The interior of ...
The interior of these cars appear to be in? bad condition, seats and floors worn out and grafiti all over the place.
They look? like ...
They look? like hell with the graffiti
Cool? video
Cool? video
man. you're one ...
man. you're one lucky person. I wish I? knew someone like that. o:
ya? true
ya? true
I see these cars ...
I see these cars everyday as my (Lowell) train arrives and leaves Boston. ? This is a damn shame. Hopefully some railroad restoration can take them and clean them up like they did with one at the Bedford Depot Park in Bedford, MA. SAD! :..(
Yes?
Yes?
Why should they? ...
Why should they? Structurally they are in pretty good shape considering their age and status. They aren't in the way, why not leave them there with hopes that they can one day? be restored or sent to a museum?
